Our Founders

Sam Kohnke spent his early days toddling around his parents' advertising agency before eventually becoming a Creative Director, working on some of the country's best-known sports brands. The other half of The States is Charlie McGinn, a sales guru by weekday and a golf addict on weekends. Growing up as the son of a Hall of Fame beat writer, sports have always had a major influence on his life. With unwavering lifetime support from his parents, this was the perfect opportunity to mix business with passion. Their combined expertise in design and business forms the backbone of The States Golf.
